An AI-Focused Assessment for the Next Generation
IDAT for AI is a future-oriented assessment initiative developed by IDAT (International Diagnostic & Admissions Test) in strategic collaboration with University College London (UCL). Designed for students aged 13–18, this assessment is part of the UCL programme and focuses on evaluating AI literacy, critical thinking, problem-solving ability and innovation potential.
Unlike traditional academic tests, IDAT for AI integrates learning, assessment and research-based design to help schools and students better understand readiness for advanced AI learning and responsible engagement with emerging technologies.

What Makes IDAT for AI Different?
The IDAT for AI is part of the selection criteria process for choosing the top 20% of students to participate in on an onsite AI course by the prestigious UCL Centre for AI. IDAT for AI goes beyond subject-based testing by combining AI literacy education with a research-informed assessment framework. It forms 60% of the assessment for entry to the onsite programme.

IDAT for AI Assessment - Test Format
The IDAT for AI selection assessment is delivered as a computer-based test, with test dates and venues arranged by participating schools. All examinations take place in school computer labs under supervised conditions.
Final results for the selection process are calculated based on:
- IDAT for AI Selection Assessment (Computer-Based Test): 60%
- Assignment Performance (Academic Essays on IDAT for AI Moodle): 40%
Based on overall performance, the top 20% of students will be selected to progress to the UK AI Advanced Experience, gaining further exposure to advanced academic and research environments.

IDAT for AI Moodle Platform
Students enrolled in IDAT for AI will receive their official Moodle login details through their school. The IDAT for AI Moodle platform serves as the central hub for the programme, where students complete the AI Foundation learning units, submit essay assignments, and access materials to prepare for the IDAT for AI assessment.
All course content, assessment guidance and test preparation resources are provided exclusively through the IDAT for AI Moodle platform.
